Hasty to judge

A man and his daughter were playing in the park.

The little girl spotted an apple vendor and asked her father to buy her an apple.

The man didn’t have much money with him, but it was enough to buy two apples. So, he bought two apples and gave them to her.

The little girl held one apple each in her two hands.  The man asked her if she would share the apples with him.

On hearing this, she quickly took a bite from one apple.  And before he could speak, she took another bite from the second apple.

The man was surprised.  For a moment, he wondered what mistake he did in raising his daughter that she acted in such a greedy way.

He was lost in thoughts, that perhaps he was just thinking too much, and that his daughter was too young to understand what sharing and giving is. The smile disappeared from his face.

And suddenly, the girl held up one of the apples and said, “Father, have this one, this one is much juicier and sweeter.”

The man was speechless.  He felt ashamed that he tended to judge the actions of a little child so hastily.  But his smile came back now knowing why his daughter took a bite from each apple.
